I know it's way too early to be thinking about spring time, but I read that the cherry blossoms are gonna be blooming even earlier this year. Maybe that means that spring will come early, too. (Then again, that does mean that I'd be officially a fourth year... so I should probably stop that thought right there before I jinx it.)
It does feel like everywhere I look there's all of these big advertisements for the Olympics and the 2025 World Expo in Osaka. If I'm able to land a position back home after I graduate, then I'm gonna be smack dab in the middle of both events. It's super exciting~ What are you guys most looking forward to in way of big events?

Jan. 5th, 2019 09:07 amI hope everyone had a good new year with their loved ones~ ♥ My liver survived being home for the holiday, so I'm gonna consider it a good one. We also had the annual Oshitari and Shiraishi shindig where Dad and Papa got really, really, really drunk and started to tell us all about stories like when we were your age.
Ah~ Gotta love family. (￣▽￣)
Though! That reminds me. It's cool and completely bizarre to watch your best friend performing on a program with so many famous artists. It really highlighted the fact that millions of people want to see Kura sing and dance and it makes me feel proud of him. I enjoyed the duet with Niou (the opening of Star Debut is really super catchy), but the best part was definitely how he sang Speed Star.
Hearing that song for the first time legit made me cry so many happy tears and every time I hear it I feel like I'm going to explore into a billion little pieces. Yukari makes fun of me for it, but I know she really adores the song, too. It feels really special that it became his breakout song. I mean, it was already moving that he wrote the song about me at all, but then for it to become such a big hit? I'm really lucky. (ilubb (っ˘з(˘⌣˘ ) ♡)

It was a super chill day where we saw some illumination displays and just generally enjoyed each other's company. I also baked her a Christmas cake in celebration of both events, so we had two cakes to share. I think I did pretty well, but I'll leave that to her 'cause she's so talented~ ♥

Oh! Taking breaks from school is always good. My textbooks need a good rest for a while. (And by textbooks, I mean my brain.) It's a bit crazy to think that I'll be entering my fourth year soon... and then after that, I'll be out of pre-med and into graduate school. There are still so many years left to go, but it makes me feel like I can kinda start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, y'know? And Dad has warned me that it will start to go even faster once I begin practicum and stuff, so there's that, too. I dunno. This time of year always has me reflecting on stuff. Probably 'cause I'm around all of the amazing Oshitaris out there, hahaha~

Maybe it's stereotypical of me, but coffeeshops are a great place to study. Comfy seats, an endless flow of coffee, pastries for days, outlets to plug into, basically everything you could possibly need. I mean, really, all we need is beer taps and we'd be set for life. (￣▽￣) Also can't deny that the people watching is up there for things to do on a Sunday afternoon when you're desperately avoiding your heavy assed textbook.

I was thinking about what Kura said lately, I've been planning an event, and both of these things kinda go hand in hand. And so, in spirit of both my former captain and doubles partner, I've decided to collect donations for tennis equipment and supplies. If you happen to have any spare racquets, string, balls, dampeners, grip tape, overgrip, bags (especially multi-racquet bags), etc, that you don't mind parting with, please donate! I'm also accepting monetary donations that I'm gonna put toward buying a few ball carts, junior/training tennis balls, and other miscellaneous supplies that aren't collected through the equipment donations.
Ultimately it's gonna be donated to an organization that helps support kids who wouldn't otherwise have the monetary ability to play tennis. Let me know if you want any verification of the organization or anything. I can forward you the email from the team I'm working with. ヽ(・∀・)ﾉ
I have some drop boxes set up at Toudai, or you can come bring them to my place. (It'd be awesome if you guys can set up boxes at Basil and Mikiya, too! I'll come pick 'em up. ACTUALLY! I'll come to your house and pick stuff up too if that helps!) I would really appreciate anything you guys can donate to the cause. ♥ Even if you no longer play or how you may feel about it after competing, I think we can all agree that it's not only a sport for life, but it's also an amazing gateway to create lifelong friendships. With fun times comes more happy people and then the cycle continues! I kinda wanna go to a festival in Osaka. Hikaru and I were talking about getting home at some point in the summer, but would anyone else also be interested in escaping off to Osaka for something fun~?
Oooh, the Tenjin Matsuri is always the best one. You've never experienced a festival until you've been there. It's actually just after Hikaru's birthday, so it might be good timing depending on when he wants to see his family. ☆ ～('▽^人)
